A weekend of English Country Dance (#30 in the series) to suit a wide range of tastes, with dances from the period c1650 to the present day including New England Contras and Squares. It is aimed at enthusiasts who enjoy their dancing and aspire to improve their skills, and knowledge of English Country Dance, but not at the expense of courtesy and cordiality. The emphasis will be firmly on enjoyment.
The weekend commences with dinner on the evening of Friday 12th October 2012 and concludes with a farewell dance on the afternoon of Sunday 14th October. There will be a mixture of dances & workshops, and some free time to explore Gt. Malvern, & its beautiful environs.

The series is organised and led by John & Hilary Turner. The calling is shared between John and our 'Guest Caller' (see below). John calls dances in a variety of styles from Playford to 'New England' Contras, see John's CV. The music is provided by our 'Guest Musicians' (see below). Hilary is Booking Secretary & Hostess. |

GUEST CALLER - Frances Richardson
| Frances started dancing when she was 17 and has called at many festivals,
including Broadstairs, Chippenham, Lichfield, Sidmouth and Southam, plus weekends, days of dance,
and Saturday dances across the country.
She enjoys a variety of styles and you can expect a thoroughly good mixture. Whilst Playford was her first and enduring love, she also does American and Scottish – above all Frances believes that dancing should be enjoyable, and embraces the light-hearted approach. |

GUEST MUSICIANS - Edward Jay & Fiona Barrow
|
Eddy (accordion) and Fiona (violin), The Bristol Players, have
been working together for 8 years. They have wide experience of playing for social dancing at all levels
and have performed around the country including at Sidmouth, Southam and Broadstairs festivals.
They have also toured California and been guests at the Monte Toyon festival.
They have travelled internationally in the theatre, and more recently their highly acclaimed show
'Piaf - The Songs' is appearing around the country and in the States.
These versatile players provide their own unique blend - fluid, energetic and sparkling, that makes
them a joy to dance to.

| THE VENUE.
The Abbey Hotel is situated on the slopes of the Malvern Hills in the Spa town of Great Malvern, Worcestershire, with wonderful views over the Severn Valley & the Vale of Evesham. CHARGES
The charges include Full Board from Dinner on Friday Evening to Lunch on Sunday including
Morning Coffee / Tea both days, and a cup of Tea before departure on the Sunday
Afternoon.
The cost of the weekend is £199.00 per person. A deposit of £95.00 per person is required when booking. A
discount of £5.00 per person will be deducted from the balance for
bookings made before 14th May 2012.
BOOKING POLICY & PROCEDURE
Single guests please note that if you are sharing and subsequently need to cancel your
booking you may incur the full charge if a suitable replacement for you cannot be found.
Please book early to avoid disappointment. We fill up very quickly.

and forward together with your cheque for the correct amount

If you have any special dietary requirements or prefer decaffeinated coffee please include
the information on the booking form so that the hotel can be notified.
The balance of payment is due on 20th August 2012.
