THE EVENT
A weekend of English Country Dance to suit all tastes (#22 in the series). The series is
organised and led by John & Hilary Turner.
On this occasion the calling was shared between John and our 'Guest' Caller
Rhodri Davies with music provided by Aidan Broadbridge & Maggie Fletcher.
The weekend commenced with dinner on the evening of Friday 14th November, 2008 and concluded with a farewell dance on the afternoon of Sunday 16th November. There was a mixture of dances & workshops, and some free time to explore Skipton & the beautiful environs.
GUEST CALLER - Rhodri Davies| RHODRI DAVIES has been calling for 20 years at events such as Chippenham, Sidmouth and Seattle Folk Life festivals as well as regular bookings at local dances and club events round the country. Whilst he has a special fondness for contras he has a wide repertoire; a mixed programme dance will find him calling Playford to Squares, his own compositions to traditional dances from the CDMs. |

| AIDAN BROADBRIDGE For the past nine years, Aidan on fiddle has been accompanied by pianist Louisa Ridgway. They have impressed audiences from the dance floor to the concert hall. Their energetic performances for English, Scottish and Contra dancing create an atmosphere unlike any other duo. Aidan and Louisa's classical training shines through in their playing - as does their sense of humour! Unfortunately Louisa was unable to be with us & at the last moment we were pleased to secure the services of MAGGIE FLETCHER who has delighted audiences with her playing for many years. Our grateful thanks Maggie. |
THE RENDEZVOUS HOTEL
The RENDEZVOUS is a

Nth Yorks. The accommodation is comfortable and stylish, with a spacious
