THE EVENT
| A weekend of English Country Dance to suit all tastes (#35 in the series). The series is organised and led by John & Hilary Turner. |

On this occasion the calling was shared between John and our 'Guest' Caller Carol Hewson with music provided by Pendragon.
The weekend commenced with dinner on the evening of Friday 23rd January, 2015 and concluded with a farewell dance on the afternoon of Sunday 25th January. There was a mixture of dances & workshops, and some free time to explore the Exe Estuary & Devon Coast.
GUEST CALLER - Carol Hewson|
Carol Hewson calls
dances in a variety of
styles from Playford to
New England Squares and
Contras; a few Scottish
dances have been known
to creep into an evening dance programme too. Carol
is passionate about keeping Traditional Dances alive
whilst embracing the newer dances of the age. She
believes Folk Dancing should be fun and her motto
is " Wear comfortable shoes and a smile"

GUEST MUSICIANS - Pendragon
| Pendragon has been led by John Dudley on accordion for many years. The band is well-known for playing at Club Dances and Festivals across the country. In its current line-up John is joined by fiddler Andrea Oldfield and mandolin and banjo player Nigel Hall. The band is also known for its flexibility and plays for all types of folk dance, from Playford to Irish Set Dancing, and from Scottish to Squares and Contras. |

THE LANGSTONE CLIFF HOTEL

The hotel's excellent 'Washington Ballroom' was our venue for dancing.
This popular hotel is a short drive from both Exeter and Torquay and is set in 19 acres of woodland overlooking the Exe estuary in Devon, with beautiful views across the river to Exmouth & beyond.
